Design objective DO: Design objectives for a compliant-by-design ICO KYC system
The KYC system's design objectives are derived from KYC and legal requirements and include, among others: prevent transaction-flow analysis so that investors cannot be tracked (through proper technical and non-technical solutions); provide investors with status updates about the phase of the token-sale process; allow key management facilitated via a web interface so investors do not manually conduct public/private key management, with proper incentives set; integrate the KYC process into the investment process so it runs on a decentralized public blockchain, takes no longer than about ten minutes, and lets ICO parties access results quickly by eliminating third parties; and satisfy the highest applicable legal regulations (e.g., using compliant eID identity verification).
